No Summer Slump Here!

 We think of things slowing down a bit in the summer, but that has not been the case at LCC.  What a summer of outreach this has been:  Promiseland Camps, youth camps and Jamaica Mission trip, Adventure Camp and VBS on the Island, and powerful worship services at both campuses.

You can add to this a wonderful harvest of our last Bumper Crop.  We supplied household materials for homeless families that are being blessed through our partners, Family Promise.  What an impact your giving made.  Listen to this word of thanks from one of the staff members at Family Promise: 

                 Dear Pastor Joe and all my sisters and brothers in Christ at LowCountry Community,

 There are no words that accurately express our sincere thanks for all the donations that we received this morning. The families are as overwhelmed as I was and we are all eternally grateful. Please know that they will
used by not only these families but by our future families and we have many on the list. Through your giving, Family Promise will provide things to our families that  food stamps or small family independence checks cannot provide. Your church community certainly lives by the words that "What so ever you do for the least of your brethren, you do for Me."

Get your “Go To Jail Free” card!

Kairos Prison Ministry is looking for a few good men to go to Jail!  This fantastic ministry is doing their 3rd weekend Kairos Retreat at the Ridgeland  Prison October 20-23.  We need men who will be trained to be good listeners and friends to a table full of guys.  If you love God- you can do this.   Curious?  Contact Charlie Horrel right away at:   janhorrell@gmail.com

If you are thinking of going on a mission trip at LCC, you will need to have go to the Connect Class and the Reach Class before the trip.  Lucky for you, we are having our next Core Classes July 31.  These Classes include free dinner and childcare!  Come on- nobody's offering you a better deal than this!  REGISTER HERE for the Reach Class or any of the Core Classes- and continue your journey as a Christ Follower.

In my next blog, I am going to tell you about a couple of books that are blowing my mind (and heart) right now.  I will finish them both and give you a little personal review.  Since reading them, I  have already seen some cool changes in my own life.  More later...
