Would You Pray About Coming?

 I know you are bombarded with info/appeals from every side, but I wanted to ask you to consider helping us change the world!  We are coming up to two deadlines for mission adventures that still have plenty of room for you.  PLEASE READ THIS AND SEE IF GOD IS TALKING TO YOU…

  The deadline for the Inner-City Atlanta Trip is on July 10th.  The trip will be July 26-31.  We will work on the streets alongside ministries from The Atlanta Dream Center.  All you need is to be a high school grad  with a spirit of adventure.  This trip will take us into a world most of us have not been to- and you won't need a passport!  You can find all about this trip by CLICKING HERE.  If you have any questions or hesitations, call me at 843-384-1994.

  The next deadline is for our Belize Mission Trip- August 10th.  The actual trip will be November 23-19, but you need to make a decision in the next month as to whether the Lord is calling you to join us.  We will be delivering Clean water, and the Living Water as we install a water filtration system for a community that has NEVER IN IT'S HISTORY had safe/clean water.  We will work with children through the RowKids Ministry as well as do some construction.  CLICK HERE to get all the info.  We have room for 14 more teammates- get your application and deposit in now and help us change the world.

 

You all remember Brandon and Kim Smith, right?  They are the guest worship leaders that have led at LCC a number of times over the last year.  Brandon wanted me to tell you of a cool offer:  Buy some of his worship songs- and he will send the proceeds to feed children in the slums of Nairobi Kenya.  This is a great ministry that feeds orphan kids for one dollar a week!!  When you download a song- a kid gets food for 7 days.  Check out his GREAT WEBSITE and see if you can get some blessed worship songs (and bless some kids at the same time).

 God is doing some great things through LCC- Pray about being a part of it.

A Few Things On My Heart…

  I just can't express how thankful I am for all the people that led and worked with our LowCountry Build Team last week. The 4 main people that led this whole adventure were: Larry LIttle, John Hastilow, Gus Hetzel, and Jan McKim.  Along with about 35 others, we were able to be the hands and feet of Jesus to two families that had insurmountable housing needs. One family was given an operable bathroom and shower for the first time in nearly 3 years.  The other person we ministered to was a persistent widow that has been trying to move into a mobile home she purchased over 5 years ago.  Through one bureaucratic mess after another, it looked like she would never get the permits to move in. Long story short:  we are praying that all the hoops will be jumped through by next week for her to move into a beautifully remodeled and updated mobile home.  Our BBQ KREW came to both locations and hosted a meal for our teams, host families, and all their friends and neighbors.  What great celebrations these turned out to be.  At the BBQ on Goethe Road, a wonderful 70 year old African-American lady told us, "Never in my lifetime did I think I would see the day when white folks would be down here helping us."  As I watched our folks working and loving on folks in various ways, I thought, "This is what a healthy Church looks like."  This was just our first local mission trip of this kind, and we hope to have you join us for the next one in October.  More info will be on its way…

 The Stephens Family is coming back to LCC after a year in Belize.  They will arrive here the first part of July and settle in for a while until the Lord shows them their next mission adventure.  Please pray for them in this traumatic time of re-entry.  Much of their immediate future is uncertain.  I just got a great video from them today and wanted you to see it.  Here is what Christine said about the video:

Hope you enjoy, it is just a small sampling of our lives there. The group picture at the end is our church family and where we spent 90% of our time and people we are closest too. The couple in one of the pics (white blonde and Belizean guy) are the couple that run the church and some of our closest friends. Please continue to pray for them, he runs his own businesses and she has 3 small children at home. The church is a ministry that they started for youth in the village.

 A mission trip to Atlanta?  Yup!  We are still looking for folks who like to live a little on the wild side.  We will be working on the streets and touching lives in amazing ways.  July 10 is the cutoff for this trip (July 26-31) and you can find out all about it HERE.

 Seriously, diapers?!  Yes, diapers can be another way of showing God's love.  A group made up of folks from several churches are asking you to consider giving some diapers that will go to Bluffton Self Help, and Deep Well on the Island.  When young moms are struggling in poverty, one thing they cannot get help with is diapers.  Last year this group gathered 10,000 diapers- and they only lasted 4 months.  What a practical way to help these desperate moms.  

 Here is what you do:  

 Come to Chick-fil-A Tuesday, July 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. for the Diaper Drive.                                                                                                        

If you can't make it to Chick-fil-A July 19, we have a few alternate drop-off locations for unopened packages of disposable diapers, unopened packages of wipes or diaper creams. These locations will be accepted donations from July 9-19.
