You Guys Are The BEST!

Bountiful Bumper Crop!  People all over Beaufort and Jasper counties are eating because of you.  We were able to deliver the food you gave to 5 different locations all over the Low Country.  Here are just a couple responses from ministries we delivered to:

Patty and I got to actually put food in the hands of homeless people- you should have seen their faces!!  If you would like to be a part of our Bumper Crop ministry, we could really use your help.  If interested, please contact Janie Treon at jtreon@hiltonheadisland.org  Your next chance to give to the Bumper Crop will be July 24.

   Community First Banquet/Gospel Extravaganza- THIS Saturday, May 21st!  This is like taking a mission trip right into a part of Bluffton most of us haven't seen.  Come for an evening that will just keep a smile on your face.  I still have tickets- $15 a piece email me at  jfriesen@lowcountrycc.org or 836-1101 to reserve some.  5:30 pm at the Community Center at Oscar Frazier Park.

Get Your Tickets to the Gospel Extravaganza Banquet-  May 21( 5:30-8:30pm)   Talk about a cool night!  This evening is one of the biggest nights of the year for Community First as much of their income comes from this fund raiser.  You can help touch Bluffton, get a great meal, and hear some kicking' Gospel music all for just $15 per ticket.  I have the tickets and can get them to you Sunday or at the door.  Just email me and reserve your tickets at jfriesen@lowcountrycc.org  or call me at: 836-1101. I am dreaming of a mob of folks from LCC will be there.  We will be in the Community Center at Oscar Frazier Park.

Missions On A Quarter Tank of Gas...

I have shared with you before that I am struck by the need and desperation in people's lives that live right among us.  Trips overseas are so important- and we will continue to offer faith adventures that put you on a plane- but we don't need a passport to be the answer to someone's prayers.  Just behind the trees in our own county are people desperate for hope.  Let's open our eyes and do something about it- in Jesus' name

One of our ministry partners that I am crazy about is "Community First".  Under the leadership of Pastor Harvey, this street level ministry is touching lives of all colors, and hearts of young people of all ages.  Focusing on Single Parents and young people, Pastor Harvey is involved with the county's best GED program that is helping many youth get their H.S. diplomas.  Community First also does a lot of tutoring and mentoring, and is always in need of more help.  Several folks from LCC work there on a weekly basis- but we need so many more to help.  Community First also has groups that focus on young boys (Wise Guys) and girls (Power Girls) in weekly meetings that try to install the Godly truth many of them are hearing nowhere else.

LCC is the only church in the community that is supporting them financially, but I want us to support them in so many other ways.  If you are at all interested in knowing more, and how you might be able to help, please contact Pastor Harvey at communityfirst@hargray.com or at 706-9580

Please come to their annual "Dinner and Gospel Extravaganza" , which is a real hoot!                                                                                                            May 21, 5:30-9 pm   Oscar Frazier Park Clubhouse

 It is a dinner with wonderful entertainment by some local kids, dancers, and the amazing "Mighty Trumpet Travelers" - an incredible Gospel group based out of Savannah.  Adults- $15, Children under 10- $5.  Patty and I won't miss it.
